Trust Sweet Iron Baby Swale Medium Port

We love this bit because it offers completely independent action between the snaffle and curb action! Get all the benefits of a double bridle without the hassle.

The swales have the effect of a bar and snaffle but are less complicated. You can ride with 2 reins, one rein on the normal ring for soft support and the other rein on the lower ring for the effect of the bar. The Swales has separate rings for attaching the cheek pieces so that the effect of the rein only affects the lower jaw. The baby swales have short shanks and therefore have a milder effect than the normal swales. The swales are used (and supplied) in combination with a curb chain.

This mouthpiece is a rod with a medium port. The tongue arch provides more tongue freedom so that there is no pressure on the tongue but is distributed over the layers. This makes the bit ideal for horses with a sensitive tongue or horses that stick out the tongue. This bit is not suitable for an inexperienced rider. 

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse’s saliva production naturally. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray.
