Trust Sweet Iron Pony 3 Ring Eliptical

The TRUST Pony Collection. An anatomically shaped bit with a perfect fit for a pony’s mouth. In collaboration with pony riders, TRUST equestrian developed the pony series with new sizes, thinner mouthpieces, and smaller cheekpieces. The bits are made in sizes 9.5, 10.5, and 11.5.

An elliptical (double-jointed) mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece. This mouthpiece has two hinges, is shaped more towards the mouth, and lies somewhat looser in the mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the layers, and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws, the hinge points can press on the layers which can cause wounds. Compared to a single jointed bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue.

Sweet Iron rust when it comes in contact with moisture: the surface tastes sweet and stimulates the horse’s natural saliva production. This causes the horse to foam and it improves its acceptance of the bite and helps the rider and horse for better contact. Oxidation changes the color of the Trust bite in “Sweet iron” from blue to more brownish-gray as the bite rusts. A “Sweet Iron” bite gets an orange-brown rust layer on the bites if the bite is not used for a period of time. This can be removed by wiping it off with a damp warm cloth.
